About Patricia

Patricia is a skilled and experienced attorney and mediator who has helped thousands of clients resolve their parenting and divorce issues so they can move forward in their lives.  Patricia has been mediating family law disputes for more than 20 years and has been practicing family law for almost 30 years. Patricia focuses her practice on mediation of family law matters including divorce, parenting and child custody issues, child support, and guardianship issues.

Patricia is an approved child custody mediator with the Jackson County Family Court, where she has served as a mediator for 20 years. Patricia has also served as a mediator with the M.A.R.C.H. Mediation program (Mediation Achieving Results for Children) for 19 years.

Patricia is a member of the Family Law Section of the Missouri Bar, the Association of Family and Conciliatory Courts, and the Association of Missouri Mediators, where she also served as a board member and secretary. When her children were in Blue Springs public schools, Patricia volunteered for various activities, including serving as a board member and treasurer of the Blue Springs Music Boosters, which provides support to music programs for children of all ages in Blue Springs public schools.   

Patricia graduated from the University of Missouri with a B.A. in 1979 and a M.A. in 1982.  After spending several years working in state government in Jefferson City, Patricia moved to Kansas City, where she attended law school at the University of Missouri Kansas City.  Patricia was selected for the UMKC Law Review where she was published and served as an editor.  Patricia received her law degree and was admitted to practice law in the state of Missouri in 1991.  In 1999, Patricia received her mediation training at the University of Missouri School of Law Center for the Study of Dispute Resolution and has since made mediation her primary focus.

Patricia enjoys spending time with her husband and their two grown daughters. Patricia also enjoys traveling, gardening, and biking in her free time.
